New website addiction!

Ok. As if I need one more thing to distract me from being productive, I found a new website that does just that! dearoldlove.com is a website where people can visit and anonymously share things about past relationships that they never got the chance to say, or things they would say now after they've broken up. It's kind of like postsecret.com (also great) where people can share things that they wouldn't necessarily say to someone in person. I think sites like this have become so popular because whether they would like to admit it or not, people love to have a peek in at other people's lives. It's like reading someone's diary...if given the chance, and with little possibility of getting caught, I think everyone would take a look inside someone's diary. People have voyeuristic tendencies. It's also like watching Real World. No matter how big of a train wreck you know you are about to witness, you can't look away. So check out dearoldlove.com and waste some time peeking in on others lives!

Here are a few posts I saw that I've liked...
-"I still give you the finger every time you manage to show up on my computer screen."

-"Even the little girl I babysit asks why you don't call anymore."

-"Of all the games I've played, you're the only one to have sunk my Battleship, landed on my Boardwalk, Connected my Four, and Pursued my Trivia."

Signs You Know You're On a Bad Date

Inspired by true dating horror stories, here are 5 signs that let you know you're on a bad date...
1.) Your date uses you as a taxi service.
2.) Your date announces he's not single.
3.) Your date says he's just not that into you.
4.) Your date has terrible taste--in clothes, in food, in life.
5.) Your date suggests any sort of professional ice-skating.

Hmm. Some of these may seem a little silly, but go to shine.yahoo.com to get the full stories on each topic!

What the hell happened to Sammy Sosa?!

Sammy Sosa is the most recent celebrity to become obsessed with their looks. The former Major League Baseball player made headlines when he stepped out at an event looking a little...umm, different. Photos surfaced of Sosa, orginally from the Dominican Republic, with noticeably lighter skin. People speculated that he was suffering from Vitiligo, the same skin disease that the late Michael Jackson was diagnosed with. Others thought maybe he was auditioning for the newest Twilight movie? Either way, he looked like a completely different person and I was one of the people shocked by his transformation. Today an explanation came out for the strange appearance. A close friend of Sosa's came out to say that he was undergoing a 'rejuvination process' for his skin. The woman said it is a process that women have done all the time. Sammy is confused by all of the attention he is receiving. "If you saw me in person, you would be surprised. When you see me in person, it is not going to seem like the picture." I certainly hope not. Not sure if I believe the whole 'skin rejuvination' alibi, but best of luck to Sammy on his skin dilemma!

Ashlee Simpson-Wentz's New Gig

Last week, rumors were swirling about Ashlee Simpson-Wentz's exit from the TV show Melrose Place. The show said her exit was part of her role, her character was being written out of the show. Reports later said that she was extremely disliked on the show and was a bit of a diva on set. She did not get along with her co-stars and it was an unpleasant work environment for the entire cast. Today, it was announced that for six weeks Ashlee will play Roxie Hart in the Broadway musical Chicago starting this December. Let's hope she can get along with her new cast!

Taylor Swift Mocks Kate Gosselin

SEE VIDEO BELOW

Taylor Swift was the host of last week's SNL and put on a hilarious show. Her opening monologue was great when she sang a song that poked fun at ex-boyfriend Joe Jonas and also at Kanye West. Many of the skits within this episode were great, including my favorite of the night "Best Friends" in which she demonstrated the exact ridiculousness of the obsession some best girlfriends can have with each other. In this skit, she paid boyfriend (Andy Sandberg) very little attention as soon as her roommate/best friend came home. However, one of the most popular skits from the episode is a mockery of The View where Swift plays guest host Kate Gosselin. Much of this segment is dedicated to Kate's obscure hairstyle and the different ways they can go about explaining it. These include, "a gorgeous waterfall of human hair in the front and in the back a patriotic fireworks display" and "in the front a fun slide and in the back an exploding hedgehog." Absolutely hilarious. Furthermore, the view hosts go on to talk about how Kate is going to Barnes and Noble for a book signing following the show, and "Whoopi" says she didn't know Kate was writing a book. Kate (Swift) goes on to say that she isn't, she's just going to ask the customers at the store if they want her to sign whatever book they're buying. Swift nailed it with this impression and it made for a very entertaining episode. Didn't think she had the acting skills but I guess I was wrong.

Lady Gaga Reveals Her Face (No Mask!) on German Talk Show

Not so scary after all. Lady Gaga is known not only for her musical skills, but also for her extravagant outfits and various masks that make it hard to see what she really looks like. However, appearing on the German talk show Wetten Dass...?, we see here that the real Gaga is very much exposed. Her outfit was again extreme, but other than that she appears as pretty much natural. Gaga recently shot a video with Beyonce for Beyonce's single Videophone...now that will be quite the pair. Also, she is set to release a deluxe edition of her platinum debut album The Fame Monster on November 23rd. We will see a lot more from this new pop phenomenon. Gaga fails to bore us and I wouldn't expect this "au natural" thing to continue.

Twilight's Hot Gleaming

Ok so this headline isn't that shocking but he's just too pretty not to talk about. With the one year anniversary since the release of Twilight, Robert Pattinson is featured in Vanity Fair's November issue. The only thing comparable to the immense infatuation with Pattinson is the hearthrob craze that followed DiCaprio's perfomane in Titanic, and I don't even know if that can hold a candle to this current obsession. This article follows Pattinson's promotional tour through New York City and reveals that "There are no wild nights out at clubs—even if he could go out without being mobbed, Pattinson would prefer to curl up with a good book". Pattinson confesses that he is extremely self-conscious to the point of his constant worry that his butt crack may be showing at some point during his daily paparazzi chases. Whereas the overwhelming public sees him as perfectly flawlesss, he thinks he resembles a cartoon character because one of his legs is significantly longer than the other. And yet again, he refuses any love affair with costar Kristen Stewart claiming that they have a great relationship but are usually across the country from each other so how could they be having these "secret dates" that come up so often in the tabloids? That makes him single in my book. This heartthrob is still available!

Cheer for Homecoming Princess Dakota Fanning!

Dakota Fanning is not only an Oscar winning star soon to appear in New Moon, she's also Homecoming Princess of her north Hollywood High School. And yes, that is a real cheerleading outfit you see. She does all her own stunt work on the cheerleading squad. Fanning rules both film and school. At only 15 years old, she has managed to maintain a normal teenage lifestyle despite being a major celebrity. Looks like the prince isn't too bad either. She and #47 took a spin around the dance floor later that night. So much for fangs...this girl's moving on to jerseys. And I'd say he doesn't match up too bad with Jacob and Edward.

The King of Pop has still got it...

Even after his death the King of Pop, Michael Jackson, is still the greatest entertainer there is. MJ's movie This Is It opened in theaters last Tuesday at midnight, and in its first five days has earned an astounding $101 million. The film is a documentary of rehearsal footage from Michael's concert that was to have taken place in London this past summer. The concert was cancelled due to his untimely death on June 25th. The movie is a private look into the workings that go into putting on a show of that magnitude and was meant for Jackson's personal use. As an MJ superfan myself, I've seen the movie and it really was incredible. The show looked like it would have been so entertaining from start to finish. It was interesting to see such a personal side of Michael Jackson working behind the scenes. And it was nice to see him performing all of his amazing music and dances one last time.

Olsen Twins' Newest Project

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen are embarking on a new endeavor. The 23-year old twins are launching a new clothing line for JCPenney. The new line, called Olsenboye, is for juniors and is "very fun, fashion driven, trendy, and wholesome at the same time." It will be featured in stores for a limited time starting November 6th, and launch in stores officially for Spring 2010. Clothes in the line will be affordably priced, ranging from $20-$50 and be available in sizes 0-15. Based on the picture, it looks like there could be some cute clothes featured in their new line, but I think MK and Ashley might be losing their fashion icon status. I don't know about anyone else, but every time I see pictures of the twins now they look like homeless bag ladies...
